This drama surely looks star-studded! Ryu Jun Yeol, IU, Park Jung Min (Hellbound), Park Hae Joon and Bae Sung Woo (Delayed Justice) have been confirmed for new OTT drama titled Money Game. It’s based on two webcomics Money Game and Pi Game, written by the same writer. It is an 8 episode series — definitely a plus! It involves eight participants entering a reality show and this reminds me of Liar Game, a drama I loved.

These participants are in need of money and they enter this reality show where they have to stay in a studio with nothing but walls. They are placed under extreme circumstances and cut off from the world. If they succeed to stay there for 100 days, they will be rewarded with lots of money.

Money Game is helmed by the director of movies like The Face Reader (2013) and The King (2017), who will also oversee the writing. I loved Ryu Jun Yeol in Reply 1988 – the only drama of his that I have seen but I’m glad he is doing more dramas now after being busy in movies. He recently wrapped Lost. I’m currently watching My Mister and IU is simply amazing in it. Her last drama was 2019’s fantasy Hotel Del Luna. Park Hae Joon was last seen in hit drama The World of the Married (2020).

The drama has not announced the OTT platform for its airing yet. It starts filming soon! With a probable premiere date in second half of 2022.
