Suspicious Housekeeper is the new upcoming Monday-Tuesday SBS drama which will premiere after Empire Of Gold wraps up. It is the remake of a Japanese drama called I Am Mita, Your Housekeeper which came in 2011. The title role is being played by Choi Ji Woo, who is returning to small screen after 2011 when she did Can’t Lose (I’m having this show in plan-to-watch list actually and it stars always-awesome Yoon Sang Hyun). I am not aware of her works but I know that she reached to new heights of popularity with the super-duper hit Winter Sonata, the part of the famous Seasons Dramas and one of the earlier shows that greatly contributed in overseas spreading of Korean Wave aka Hallyu.
Choi Ji Woo plays an unfriendly and mysterious housekeeper Park Bok-Nyeo, who comes to work for a family consisting of a father and his four daughters who are having difficult times due to the sudden death of their mother. Park Bok-Nyeo helps in the reconciliation and strengthening of bonds in the family. Well, the story sounds poignant and a bit enigmatic. The drama will have a total of 20 episodes and the other cast members include Lee Sung Jae (last seen as the evil bad guy in Gu Family Book), Wang Ji Hye (who was cute in Protect The Boss) and the talented and precocious child actress Kim So Hyun (Missing You).
Suspicious Housekeeper starts on September 23 and is directed by PD of dramas like Sign and Ghost. Following are the script reading pictures and the one embedded above is a still from the show.
Somehow Kaisefu no Mita was a hit in Japan even though it wasn’t a good drama. T___T I’m surprised it’s being made into a kdrama remake!
I haven’t seen the original….
Maybe they are remaking it as it was a hit….hopefully they’ll modify the script and give a good final product….
