Oh I love these stills from upcoming sageuk Shine Or Go Crazy (I still can’t wrap my brain around the fact that this is indeed name of a serious historical show!) which look so beautiful and surreal. I particularly like the above picture, all red themed and so delicately romantic. Jang Hyuk and Oh Yeon Seo star in this romance drama where he is playing the prince of Goryeo who is shunned due to a prophecy and she plays the last princess of Balhae who is fated to be the light of another country. They meet and get married for some reason. Well, I do like this idea if they are going for something like falling in love after getting married. Im Joo Hwan plays his ambitious half-brother who will also be the rival in love and Honey Lee stars as a woman who also has affections for the hero. She was last seen in weekend drama Modern Farmer opposite Lee Hong Ki.

I like the romantic vibes I’m getting from this fantasy historical drama and it would be great to see Jang Hyuk again after I loved him so much in Fated To Love You. Especially when he is returning to his sageuk form. I think I’m so used to his eccentric Gun that it would be exciting and difficult to watch him in a different, serious character. But that’s the fun of it all, right? I was initially skeptical about heroine’s casting as I have seen her in a not-so-impressive supporting role but I think she has vastly improved since then as now she is getting leading lady roles as well as accolades and I’m eager to see the improvement.

Shine Or Go Crazy will hit the airwaves from 19 January on MBC as the next show in the Monday-Tuesday slot.
