I have always loved Go Kyung Pyo, right from the very first time I saw him act in Flower Boy Next Door. He is such a natural actor and effortlessly charming. He has done supporting but important roles in shows like Tomorrow Cantabile, Reply 1988 (his story arc was so fascinating), Jealousy Incarnate and the recently wrapped Chicago Typewriter. The last two definitely cemented his status as a strong second lead. Hence, I’m so happy to read the news that Go Kyung Pyo will finally be seen as the main lead in upcoming KBS drama Strongest Deliveryman. Yay!
Strongest Deliveryman is an inspiring story about the delivery workers who are underdogs in the society filled with struggles and how they achieve success. Go Kyung Pyo plays a jajangmyun delivery boy who is passionate in everything he does and the drama will trace his journey as one day he becomes the CEO of the same company for which he works. Similarly, Chae Soo Bin, last seen in back to back sageuks with Moonlight Drawn by Clouds and Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People, will star in her first leading role here. She also plays a delivery person who is determined to earn money and has no interest in men. The second leads are played by Lee Yeol Eum (who was quite good in Village: Secret Of Achiara) and Jang Mi Kwan (Strong Woman Do Bong Soon). She plays a practical, cold rich woman while he stars as a rich heir who will mature during the course of the show. Also starring is Kim Sun Ho (Chief Kim) and Go Won Hee (The Time I’ve Loved You). I like the cast and characters and I’m a sucker for an underdog story. Colour me interested.
The direction for Strongest Deliveryman is by the PD of Heaven’s Promise and Oohlala Spouses along with lots of drama specials for KBS. The writer co-wrote Joseon Gunman. It will begin after currently airing The Best Hit in the brand new (or revived) KBS slot of Fridays and Saturdays from 28 July. The cast and crew attended the script reading a few days back. Check out the pics! Go Kyung Pyo looks so cute and funky in the new hairdo.
