I don’t know why but I have a fondness for stories revolving around radio stations. The new KBS drama titled super-aptly Radio Romance is about an RJ who heals hearts through his radio program. Yoon Doo Joon is finally coming out of his Let’s Eat role and plays the lead role alongside Kim So Hyun (Ruler: Master Of the Mask), who is fast transitioning from the heroine’s child to teenage counterpart roles to the main heroine. Yoon Doo Joon plays a star radio jockey who is totally dependant on a script while Kim So Hyun plays a writer who is excellent in everything except the art of writing. Yoon Park of Age Of Youth fame plays a radio PD. The show might have an episodic tone as it will deal with various healing stories of the listeners.
The plot sounds light-hearted and cute and the radio station setting does sets it apart from other workplace dramas. It comes from a new writer and directed by the PD of daily That Sun In The Sky. It premieres as a Monday-Tuesday drama from January 29 following currently airing Jugglers, which is performing well at the ratings front.
I am so iffy about this one!!!!! On the one hand I want to love it, but on the other I can’t get over Kim So Hyuns baby face look (and actual age) when she is next to the male star. They made her look so mature in Goblin, they should have done the same thing with this drama.
But it just looks sooooooo cute! I also have a love of radio and I want to love this one so much. I will definitely be tuning in but I will probably be looking through my fingers.
The age gap is not bothering me that much. She is 18 and he does not look very old too. Also, the show looks very cute and so the look is also accordingly. In Goblin, her role was very serious and set in the historical period and hence, the look was mature.
