I’m not a medical drama fan but the new KBS drama Doctor Prisoner looks intriguing. It stars Nam Goong Min (Chief Kim) as a doctor who is forced to quit his job at a hospital following a scandal involving malpractice. He then vows revenge and starts working in a prison with this aim. Kim Byung Chul (SKY Castle) plays the head of this prison while Choi Won Young (SKY Castle, Heirs) stars as the primary successor of a large conglomerate group that also owns the aforementioned hospital. Nara (of pop group Hello Venus and dramas like Suspicious Partner) stars as a psychiatrist.

Both Kim Byung Chul and Choi Won Young recently appeared in superhit drama SKY Castle and it will be exciting to see their new dynamics here. Doctor Prisoner has already premiered this week as the new Wednesday-Thursday drama on KBS to good ratings. It has the PD of Laurel Tree Tailors and screenwriter of Inspiring Generation at the helm.
