Love Affairs In The Afternoon — the name itself tells you about the steamy nature of this drama. The new show about extramarital affairs on Channel A is definitely something never seen before in dramaland in terms of its bold and risque nature. It is a remake of 2014 Japanese drama Hirugao. I love Park Ha Sun (Two Weeks, Ad Genius Lee Tae Baek) and I’m glad she is back with another new project. She plays the leading role of a woman married to Jung Sang Hoon (Legal High) who works part time at a grocery store. Both are bored in their lives with no interest in each other. She falls in love with Lee Sang Yeob (Nice Guy, A Little Love Never Hurts) who plays the main lead, a biological teacher, also in an unhappy marriage with Ryu Abel (My Ajhussi).

Then there is Ye Ji Won‘s (Thirty But Seventeen) character, who is married to Choi Byung Mo (Hundred Million Stars From The Sky) for 17 years with 2 daughters. She enters into an extramarital affair with Jo Dong Hyuk (The Last Empress). I have seen most of these actors in light or comedic roles and it will be interesting to see them in a serious, darkish melodrama.

The drama is also going by the title Weekday Afternoon Lovers and it is directed by the PD of Hidden Identity and Bad Guys. It premieres on July 5 and will air on Fridays and Saturdays. Channel A has aired dramas like Panda and Hedgehog, Color Of Woman and Twelve Nights in the past.
