Just Premiered: Hong Sisters bring ‘Hotel Del Luna’ with IU and Yeo Jin Goo on tvN

This says something about my busy schedule that I have not published a single post about my favorite writers’, the Hong Sisters, new drama. To think it already got premiered, phew! But better late than never, right!. The writer duo’s new show Hotel Del Luna is again a fantasy after their last show Hwayugi (or A Korean Odyssey) and it is again being broadcast on cable network tvN. It just aired its first episode yesterday. The lead cast includes IU and Yeo Jin Goo. It’s amazing how the latter is doing one show after the other without break — he has already starred in The Crowned Clown and My Absolute Boyfriend just this year! IU was last seen in 2018’s highly acclaimed drama My Ajhussi.

Hotel Del Luna is about well, hotel. But there is a catch. It only takes ghosts as guests. IU plays the beautiful owner and Yeo Jin Goo plays the hotelier who is also scared of ghosts. This hotel is not seen by the humans. I love the premise already with mystery and fun written all over it. I confess to not liking last few shows by the writers (Read: Big, Warm And Cozy, Hwayugi — the last 2 I dropped) but my love is too strong (Delightful Girl Choon Hyang, Greatest Love, You’re Beautiful) to make me excited for every new drama they announce.

Hotel Del Luna airs on Saturdays and Sundays. The direction is by the PD of Doctors, While You Were Sleeping and You Who Came From the Stars.

Some of my favorite writers too! And I’m beyond excited for Hotel Del Luna. Really looking forward to another Hong sisters drama and Yeo Jin Goo and IU as the leads 🙂

Yeah…this seems like a perfect combo! I’m reading so many good things about the premiere episodes that I can’t wait to check it out!

I have been reading all the good things to and that has just upped my excitement even more! (if that’s actually possible, hehe)

Like you, I wasn’t much impressed with the last few Hong sisters dramas (dropped all of them) but they’ve written some I did like, so maybe Hotel del Luna will be one of those. I haven’t yet had time to check this out though. Too many other ongoing dramas on the roster and too little time. Sigh. I’m on vacation and still struggling to find a moment for dramas. 😄 Lots of other stuff to do and also a longer weekend trip ahead this weeek (which I’m looking forward to).

Vacation! That’s great! I can understand…dramas do take a back seat so many times, especially after becoming a seasoned viewer 😅 I have stopped counting my plan list dramas…
I did manage to watch ep1 and it was entertaining.
