2022 has released so many legal dramas that another one in the genre just makes me yawn. But the new KBS drama Bad Prosecutor has some good points about it that make me excited a bit despite the legal world being its center.

Kpop group EXO‘s D.O. (also, Do Kyung Soo) is also known for his acting skills, having worked in dramas like It’s Okay, That’s Love, I Remember You and 100 Days My Prince. Bad Prosecutor is his first drama after the mandatory military service. He plays the titular prosecutor who uses any kind of means to deliver justice. He uses tricks that are not exactly the standard practices. Lee Se Hee (Young Lady And Gentleman) plays a senior prosecutor who believes in perfect work skills. The ‘opposite personality prosecutors working together’ plot can also be seen in currently airing May It Please The Court. But the vibe of the two shows feels different.

Ha Joon (Black Dog) plays an ambitious prosecutor, and the hero’s group of friends is formed by Joo Bo Young (Twenty Five Twenty One) as an impressive fighter, Lee Shi Un (Reply 1997) as a hacker, Kim Sang Ho (City Hunter) as mysterious head of the Civil Affairs Office and Yeon Jun Seok (My Strange Hero) as a reliable detective. I definitely love the idea of this team working against the bad guys. The drama surely sounds quirky.

Bad Prosecutor is written by the writer of thriller Sketch (2018). It premieres today in the slot of Wednesday-Thursday.
