Love Is For Suckers (previously called Love That Will Freeze To Death) with Choi Si Won and Lee Da Hee really premiered at super speed. It was just announced like a few weeks back! I LOVE friends to lovers trope — I’m always in search of more movies, shows and books featuring it. So you can imagine my delight when I read about this drama. This one reminds me of the classic 9 End 2 Outs (2007). Plus, I really like Choi Si Won (King Of Dramas and She Was Pretty).

The leads play best friends who have known each other for 20 years. She is a variety show PD whose programs have been unsuccessful. She asks her friend to participate in her new show, its concept being based on a dating reality show. He is a plastic surgeon who has lost all interest in work and love. While working together, the two friends start realizing the romantic side of their relationship.

Song Jong Ho (Was It Love) plays heroine’s ex boyfriend and Lee Joo Yeon (SKY Castle) stars as another contestant on the variety show, who is a university professor.

Love Is For Suckers premiered yesterday on ENA in the Wednesday & Thursday slot. It is penned by the screenwriter of shows like Syndrome and Pegasus Market.
