This plot sounds intriguing! New KBS drama My Perfect Stranger is a time travel story where the two main leads travel back to year 1987. Kim Dong Wook (You Are My Spring) plays a news anchor and Jin Ki Joo (The Secret Life Of My Secretary) plays an employee at a publishing firm who somehow travel back in time. There he tries to solve a serial murder case whereas she tries to prevent the marriage of her parents. On first impressions, it seems like they have different aims but soon we learn that their purpose is interconnected.
Additionally, Seo Ji Hye (Love All Play) and Lee Won Jun (Live On) play high school students in a village in 1987. I’m guessing these two are our heroine’s parents before they got married. It’s funny to note that Kim Dong Wook played an anchor in another fantasy drama Find Me In Your Memory (2020). The actor has another drama lined up for May premiere, Delightfully Deceitful. The reason for this unusual timing is the delay in the broadcast of My Perfect Stranger which was initially scheduled for second half of 2022.
Anyhow, the premise is interesting — the fact that not one but both the leads go through time slip, then their purpose being so different and yet connected — it definitely adds to the intrigue factor. My Perfect Stranger is penned by the writer of The Tale of Nokdu (2019) and has another title Run Into You. It premieres today on KBS in the Monday-Tuesday slot.
