New JTBC drama King The Land sounds like a good old-fashioned rom-com but I’m totally here for it. It looks exactly the kind of kdrama classic romantic comedies that are responsible for my current Korean drama addiction.

Lee Joon Ho (2PM, The Red Sleeve) plays a chaebol heir who can’t stand fake smiles. His family owns King Hotel. Yoona (Girls’ Generation, Big Mouth) plays a woman who is constantly smiling and has a bright persona. She starts working at this hotel. The drama is about how they go from a bickering relationship to a romantic one. Both the leads are in a light-hearted role here, very different from their last serious roles in their respective dramas.

The cast includes Go Won Hee (Love To Hate You) and Kim Ga Eun (Under The Queen’s Umbrella) as female lead’s best friends, Ahn Se Ha (Dali And The Cocky Prince) as male lead’s friend and secretary and Kim Jae Won (Our Blues) as Go Won Hee’s character’s love interest — both working as flight attendants for King Air.

This opposites-attract drama is premiering on June 17 on JTBC in the Saturday & Sunday slot. It looks like a fun and feel-good ride!
