Action comedies are one of my favourite sub genres and Netflix is bringing an addition to it in the form of movie Officer Black Belt. The film will star Kim Woo Bin and Kim Sun Kyun in the lead roles. Yay for the cast as well! Kim Woo Bin was last seen in sci-fi drama Black Knight and has upcoming drama Everything Will Come True with Suzy. Kim Sun Kyun starred in recent Divorce Attorney Shin.

Kim Woo Bin plays an ordinary young man with a good heart and easygoing personality. He is also a martial arts expert who starts working with probation officer, played by Kim Sun Kyun, after the latter recognizes his potential. The plot sounds promising with the potential of combining thrills with comedy and bromance. I already know how good Kim Sun Kyun is in comedies and I can’t wait to see Kim Woo Bin in a comedic premise too.

The film is directed by Kim Joo Hwan, who has helmed movies like Midnight Runners (2017) and The Divine Fury (2019). It is slated for release in 2024.
