July is bringing few Korean drama premieres but there are lots of interesting shows on the list. The genres also have a wide range. Let’s have a look:
Good Partner

Premiere Date: July 12
Network: SBS
Stars: Jang Na Ra (My Happy Ending), Nam Ji Hyun (Little Women), Kim Joon Han (Hospital Playlist), P.O (Mouse)
Slot: Friday & Saturday
Number Of Episodes: 16
Genre: Drama, Law, Comedy
Synopsis: It’s about two very different divorce lawyers — one comes with a 17 year experience and is a star lawyer who thinks the interests of the law firm and her clients come first, and the other is a rookie lawyer who doesn’t tolerate injustice.
Thoughts: Legal dramas aren’t really my favorite setting but I like the cast here and I’m interested in knowing more about the plot. I’m excited to see Jang Na Ra in a role which sounds different from her previous ones.
The Auditors

Premiere Date: July 6
Network: tvN
Stars: Shin Ha Kyun (Evilive), Jin Goo (Descendants Of The Sun), Lee Jung Ha (Moving), Jo Ah Ram (Doctor Cha)
Slot: Saturday & Sunday
Number Of Episodes: 12
Genre: Comedy, Drama
Synopsis: It’s about the audit team at a construction company where the team leader is a tough and level-headed man who believes in rational thinking over emotions, and a rookie member is his exact opposite — an emotional and warm-hearted person.
Thoughts: The cast is top-notch here and potential bromance between opposite personalities is something I enjoy.
Serendipity’s Embrace

Premiere Date: July 22
Network: tvN
Stars: Kim So Hyun (My Lovely Liar), Chae Jong Hyup (Castaway Diva)
Slot: Monday & Tuesday
Number Of Episodes: 8
Genre: Romance, Comedy
Synopsis: It’s about high school sweethearts who break up and reunite after 10 years when they are 29 years old — presently, she is an animation producer who is afraid to fall in love again after the hurt she felt because of the break-up and he is a financial planner who was living abroad for past 10 years.
Thoughts: Chae Jong Hyup! *swoon* Dramaland is full of childhood connections and first loves, whatever the main plot of a drama. And this show is straight away about first loves. LOL. The ‘exes to lovers’ trope is nothing new but with lovely leads/ chemistry and some fresh layers, it can be really good.
Red Swan

Premiere Date: July 3
Network: Disney+
Stars: Kim Ha Neul (Nothing Uncovered), Rain (Full House)
Slot: Wednesday
Number Of Episodes: 10
Genre: Action, Melodrama, Romance
Synopsis: A former golfer marries into a rich family but she has had an unhappy married life. She discovers a secret about her in-law’s family through her bodyguard. She starts to develop feelings for the bodyguard.
Thoughts: The plot sounds like a weekend/ daily makjang drama! With top stars from the classic era of Kdramas (the 2000s) and the ‘bodyguard romance’ trope, I’m surely looking forward to this drama.
Sweet Home 3

Premiere Date: July 19
Network: Netflix
Stars: Song Kang (My Demon), Lee Jin Wook (Bulgasal: Immortal Souls), Lee Si Young (Grid), Go Min Shi (Youth Of May), Lee Do Hyun (The Good Bad Mother)
Slot: Monday & Tuesday
Number Of Episodes: 12
Genre: Action, Crime, Comedy
Synopsis: A high school student moves into an apartment building where humans suddenly start transforming into monsters. Season 3 will show the struggles of people caught between monsters and humans as the world shifts from monsterization to a new human era.
Thoughts: I have not seen the previous seasons, so my interest level is 0. But a lot of people are looking forward to the third installment of this hit action-fantasy series.
Tarot

Premiere Date: July 15
Network: tvN
Stars: Jo Yeo Jung (Parasite), Park Ha Sun (The Veil), Kim Jin Young (YouTuber DEX), Go Kyu Pil (Crash Landing On You), Seo Ji Hoon (Revenge Of Others), Lee Joo Bin (Queen Of Tears), Ham Eun Jung (Dream High), Kim Sung Tae (High Class), Oh Yoo Jin (Seasons Of Blossom)
Slot: Monday & Tuesday
Number Of Episodes: 4
Genre: Horror, Mystery, Thriller
Synopsis: The drama is structured in an omnibus format with each episode delving into mysterious events that could be part of anyone’s everyday life, all centered around the theme of tarot cards. The episodes have separate stories but linked mysteries that come together like a puzzle.
Thoughts: This drama released first 3 episodes as a movie back in June and now the remaining 4 episodes will be airing from July 15. Looks very intriguing and creepy.
No Way Out: The Roulette

Premiere Date: July 31
Network: U+Mobile TV
Stars: Jo Jin Woong (Signal), Yoo Jae Myung (Stranger), Kim Moo Yul (Juvenile Justice), Lee Kwang Soo (The Killer’s Shopping List), Yeom Jung Ah (SKY Castle)
Number Of Episodes: 8
Genre: Thriller, Mystery, Crime
Synopsis: A bounty of 20 billion won is placed for the murder of a heinous criminal who is released from prison.
Thoughts: The plot sounds very interesting, and it’s anchored by a powerful cast.
