The long journey of Alchemy Of Souls finally completed this month. It began in June last year and was divided into two parts. Part 2 was marked with lots of talks on change of the female lead but I’m glad the discussions shifted to plot once the second instalment started. Overall, Alchemy Of Souls Part 2 encompasses the good elements of Part 1 and delivers a satisfying story and conclusion. But it never achieved the magic of Part 1. The second part also goes by the moniker Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow.

It was an exceptional case for me with new Korean drama Crash Course In Romance. I started it and didn’t continue after first few minutes because it wasn’t capturing my interest. Then next day, I decided to give it another try because it was a drama I wanted to watch since its announcement. What a great decision! Because after watching the first two episodes, I’m in love. The Interest Of Love premiered two weeks back but I only got the chance to start it now. I have seen 2 out of 4 episodes so far but I’m totally onboard this ride! The show is moody, indie-like with an unhurried pace. It’s the opposite of over-the-top. Soft, simple, subtle. Continue reading →

I’m so excited for new JTBC drama The Interest Of Love. No fantasy. No thriller elements. No over the top shenanigans. Just low key and realistic romance. It is premiering this Wednesday and it will also be available on Netflix. Yay! It is anchored by the PD of dramas like Do You Like Brahms? (2020) and Switch: Change The World (2018). Alchemy Of Souls stole everyone’s heart when it aired a few months back. But viewers were divided when it was revealed that the main female lead, Jung So Min, won’t be appearing in the second installment of the fantasy sageuk. As for me, I was initially sad to hear the news but as we reached the conclusion of Part 1, it made sense to me as to why the female lead would change to Go Yoon Jung. It was ultimately Naksu who fell in love with Jang Uk (Lee Jae Wook) and it was her story. Continue reading →

Full of laughs and full of warmth.
I really liked the subtle, soft and indie-like start of The Interest Of Love.
