Boys Before Flowers is one of the most talked about dramas of all time. And also it has record of sorts for having the audience that deviates so much regarding the opinions about the show, which is the Korean remake of the very popular and everyone’s favorite Hana Yori Dango. Some people (mostly those who are in their starting phase of drama addiction) never get tired of praising it and the others strongly feel that it was plainly bad. I am not among either of these categories. I was wholly addicted to it and although the drama is mediocre at best, filled with all possible drama clichés and run of the mill traits, not to mention some bad acting and weird changes in the basic nature of some characters at some point; I was thoroughly entertained and never felt bored while watching it. Also, there were many good points about the show and the Kim Bum-Kim So Eun pair is one of them (I’ll talk about the rest in some other post.) I liked Kim So Eun a lot as she showed natural acting and charm without any overacting and exaggerated facial expressions. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen any of her other shows for various reasons. Mostly the shows were pretty long (A Thousand Kisses, A Good Day For The Wind To Blow) or the family weekend ones and no one told me that I was losing anything on not watching them. Even her last drama, the sageuk Horse Doctor had 50 episodes, but it received good ratings and accolades. She also received 2012 MBC Drama Award for Best New Actress, for her role of a princess.

But still, I think Kim So Eun is underrated when it comes to the leading roles in highly buzzed dramas. She is one of the most promising and finest young actresses and she is cute, pretty, charismatic, graceful and has an understated vibe. And the photo spreads for Y’sb’s Summer 2013 Collection clearly show that she is so, so cute and adorable. I love the colorful and vibrant nature of the pictures and she manages to look splendid and terrific even when her hairdo is almost same in each of the photo. I really want her to sign her next drama soon and hopefully an exciting one for my drama taste.
