I never shipped Lee Seung Gi and Moon Chae Won in their 2009 drama Brilliant Legacy (or Shining Inheritance) but I have to say, they definitely look cute together in all promo materials for upcoming movie Today’s Love. The film will mark Lee Seung Gi’s first step on celluloid and looks like a perfect treat for all rom-com lovers. It stars the two actors as friends where he plays an elementary school teacher (really! he himself looks so young!) and she is a weathercaster. She is looking a bold, sassy girl with lots of spunk while he is a man unlucky in love. They are friends but as happens with our movie best friends, they are not in love but it’s as sure as gravity that they’ll realise their feelings at the end and get together. It looks like the film is punctuated with light-hearted fun and exhilaration. Well, it doesn’t take a genius to predict where most of the rom-coms are headed but everything becomes good when the treatment is good and the chemistry is great.

Lee Seung Gi was courted for drama return with Kill Me Heal Me but he ended up dropping it. I hope he signs on some good drama this year. I did start his You’re All Surrounded but it was kept on hold (due to RL situations) and now I don’t have any interest to continue it. Moon Chae Won was last seen in 2013’s Good Doctor and Today’s Love will be her first movie after appearing in 2011’s blockbuster film War Of The Arrows. She did star in a short film Awaiting this year with Go Soo.

I love the posters for Today’s Love that add creativity into them. There is Moon Chae Won featured as main character with Lee Seung Gi in the background, making myriad of expressions and vice-versa. This indeed looks total fun.

Today’s Love is releasing on January 15. It is also going around by the moniker of Love Forecast. The movie is directed by Park Jin Pyo of Closer To Heaven and Voice Of A Murderer fame.
