I love this pair of Yoochun and Shin Se Kyung in Girl Who Sees Smells. They are totally adorable, individually and together. Episode 2 showed what I wanted it to — about our hero. I love that he does not have all the traits of a perfect hero, you know, where he has brains as well as brawl to conquer everyone. Yes, he has determination but that’s all there is to it. He is very naive and innocent and just an average police officer who has a long way to go before he becomes genius (heh) in this field. Same goes for our heroine, who is full of energy and cheerful vibes but still she is not the best when it comes to the comic skit she wants to act in. Which reminds me of the totally hilarious scene where they both act out the skit. Yoochun was especially funny with his accent and style of dialogues. But my favorite scene was when he tests her ability to see smells and keeps on changing the glasses. His expressions when he eats that mint and is caught by Cho Rim were priceless! We also met our second leads and I like the way all the murders are connected. I do find the whole police force a bit incompetent (just look at the two detectives who are as good as me when it comes to detective skills) but in the grand picture, that’s just a hiccup. The drama as a whole is entertaining and cute. The murderer seems to be that creepy doctor but my experience tells me it’s not him. Anyway, I’m not holding my breath to find out about the killer soon as my whole attention is focused on the couple who keeps on putting a twinkle in my eye and a smile in my heart.

The preview for episode 3 is here. It looks like everybody will have to eat their words as the body of the missing person would be found in the lake, as Moo Gak told (with the help of Cho Rim). Also with this accomplishment, Yeom Mi will be asking him to join Special Investigation Team. There are more comic scenes as our leads practice for their final performance in the skit, but I’m worried that due to his work, Moo Gak won’t be able to make it on time for the finale. Uh-oh.

English Translation (as the dialogues are played in the video)

Oh my God!

Do you have the same pair
as these?

I really need to do well
on this audition.

I want you to sound more stupid
when you say that line.

I’ll do my best.

Thank you.

The missing person is definitely
somewhere in this mountain!

How did you figure out
that Joo Ma Ri was in this river?

Please join the Special Investigation Team,
Officer Choi.

Where are you, Officer Choi?
Why are you not coming
