I love Seo In Guk. I adored him in Answer Me 1997 but that became full-blown love after High School King Of Savvy. I think there is a lot of warmth in his acting aside from being deft in emoting and comedy. I didn’t watch King’s Face because the subject matter of that show was as interesting to me as reading a blank diary. His newest drama is I Remember You, which came as a surprise because the drama was courting lots of actors (Lee Jin Wook, Lee Sang Yoon) till finally confirming his name and also because he just wrapped up his last drama. Well, more Seo In Guk is always a welcome thing in my book. Jang Nara will join him in this action-romance drama where he plays a crime profiler and she is a detective. They will have a bickering relationship before falling in love. The drama was previously titled Hello Monster and I literally pouted on the name change because I Remember You sounds bland and as forgettable as street pavement. Way to kill some freshness and quirkiness.

Seo In Guk plays an efficient crime profiler who worked as crime investigation consultant in New York and later returned to home country and joined Special Crime Investigation team. Jang Nara has joined the special force in order to get her hands on some confidential document (Am I the only one who remembered Moo Gak from Girl Who Sees Smells?). I think after taking a small hiatus from dramaverse, now the actress is quite busy, working in back to back dramas — Fated To Love You, Mr. Back and now this. I like both the actors individually but can’t picture them as a couple quite yet. I have hope that both will look cute together. It’s just that I never thought of these two together. It’s a nice change of roles for Seo In Guk as he has mostly done romantic-comedy roles before and this will see him as an action hero, plus in a more serious mood I guess.

Lee Chun Hee, last seen in one of my favourites from 2013, Dating Agency Cyrano, as mysterious Master, will now play team leader. Choi Won Young (Heirs, Kill Me Heal Me) stars as a scientist of an overseas company while Kpop group EXO‘s D.O. will have a cameo appearance in first two episodes. He did his drama debut in last year’s It’s Okay, It’s Love.

My excitement meter is on the average level for the show but I like every one of the cast members, so I will give this drama a try for sure. Blending action and romance could be lots of fun!

I Remember You will start after the conclusion of Who Are You — School 2015 on KBS. It’s helmed by the PD of God Of The Workplace while the screenplay is written by writer of funny, light, zany shows like Protect The Boss and All About My Romance. This romance-mystery show will have an air date in June.
