This show is clear about itself right off the bat from its title — Cinderella And The Four Knights — the new tvN drama which is starting this Friday. The drama reminds me of the classic shows like Boys Before Flowers, You’re Beautiful which act as the entry gate for drama lovers into the realm of dramaland. It has four (rich) boys and one heroine and has that Cinderella theme at its core. I’m hoping for some tvN magic of freshness to lace this age-old theme. I’m actually looking forward to it, despite it looking like a motley of clichés. It looks adorable and well, anything that looks like the above mentioned shows, should be fun.

Park So Dam (Beautiful Mind) stars as a student with multiple jobs and dreams of becoming a veterinarian. She comes to live in a huge mansion as it gives her a chance to earn money. The mansion has three chaebol cousins as its residents — Jung Il Woo (Flower Boy Ramyun Shop) as the rebellious man with a soft heart, Ahn Jae Hyun (Blood) as the cold one and Lee Jung Shin (of CNBLUE) as a warm person. There is also a bodyguard, played by Choi Min (Riders: Catch Tomorrow), who is also a caring person. Then there is Son Na Eun (the annoying girlfriend in Twenty Again) who plays a girl with a crush on Ahn Jae Hyun’s character.

Cinderella And The Four Knights is another addition to the list of fully pre-produced dramas (so glad about this new trend!), which also explains back to back dramas for leading lady Park So Dam, as she just wrapped Beautiful Mind. The show is based on a novel and helmed by two PDs — one of The Marriage Plot and the other of Secret Garden and A Gentleman’s Dignity.
