Any drama that reminds me of 2014’s She’s So Lovable (or My Lovely Girl) should not give positive vibes to me. That was the case with upcoming drama The Liar and His Lover but as the show is providing more and more promotional material, I’m getting a pleasant feeling. That and the network — tvN, which always promises some form of freshness in its dramas.
The Liar and His Lover is based on a Japanese manga (comic book) called Kanojo wa Uso o Aishisugiteru. It stars Lee Hyun Woo (Moorim School) as a musician and Joy, member of Kpop group Red Velvet, plays a high school girl with a great voice. She falls for him at the very first meeting and he hides his identity from her. Lee Jung Jin (Fugitive Plan B — on a side note: why he doesn’t get main lead roles!?) stars as our hero’s boss and Choi Min Soo (Jackpot) plays his father.
I love the bright, sunny, soft posters for the show. I hope this show has some great tracks in its OST, after all music forms a major part in this show. The Liar And His Lover is directed by the PD of Marriage Contract and Pride And Prejudice.
It starts airing from 20 March as a Monday-Tuesday drama following Introverted Boss.
Unfortunately I’ve watched the Japanese movie based on the same manga and going by the teasers this does not compare favorbly. I’ll probably give it a go anyway. 🙂
Hahah…the story is nothing new but I’m mildly excited…just for the sunny and warm look it’s giving…have not seen the complete teaser…just photos and posters
