I love Agatha Christie and I love Nancy Drew. Hence, I’m totally excited for new KBS drama Mystery Queen which is a story about an amateur detective. I liked Choi Kang Hee in Protect The Boss, but I’m not a huge fan. But here the story sounds like totally my cup of tea and unmissable!

Choi Kang Hee stars as a woman who loves reading Agatha Christie and other similar novels. She always wanted to be a detective but reality didn’t allow her to pursue her dream job. She got married to a prosecutor. One day suddenly she becomes entangled with a police case and teams up with a rookie cop, played by Lee Won Geun (The Good Wife). Kwon Sang Woo (Temptation) plays an experienced cop and his approach is complete opposite to that of our heroine — his logical investigation butting heads with her deductions. They have a bickering relationship as they solve the case together. It will be great to see mystery, thrills and comedy, all blended together here.

I absolutely love the posters — giving the classic, noir thriller vibe. Good to see something different when we have most of the posters as dull as cloudy skies.

Mystery Queen is directed by one of the PDs of Healer and Good Doctor. Its script is penned by a new writer, winning the screenwriting competition for this story. It is premiering on 5 April following hit show Chief Kim and will air on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
