SBS is bringing a new daily drama, the last for the year, in the form of Happy Sisters. As the name suggests, the show is about two sisters and their trials and tribulations. The main poster looks all cheery and light-hearted but the plot sounds more melodramatic.
In the vein of many daily soaps of dramaland, Happy Sisters stars Shim Yi Young (Legend Of The Blue Sea) as a devoted housewife to Kang Seo Joon (Secret Door) who despite her in-laws’ bad nature, remains positive. She moves into a new house with her husband but one day finds out that he is having an affair. Her sister is played by Han Young (My Son-in-Law’s Woman), who runs a small piano institute. She meets a man, played by Oh Dae Gyu (Make A Woman Cry), through a matchmaking agency. He proposes a contract marriage in return of paying off the debts that she has incurred. The drama is touted as a happy one with showcasing women of the current generation who search for their identities and love. The main poster also underlines that point and hopefully the daily drama will be an uplifting tale with message of women empowerment.
The writer for Happy Sisters is a new one but the PD has helmed shows like The Birth Of A Family and It’s Okay Daddy’s Girl. Happy Sisters starts tomorrow, airing from Monday to Friday with a total of 100+ episodes.
