Hyun Bin returns to dramaland with fantasy ‘Memories Of The Alhambra’; Park Shin Hye in talks to play the female lead

Finally! Hyun Bin has confirmed that he will be returning to small screen with tvN drama Memories Of The Alhambra, a fantasy from the genre expert writer Song Jae Jung (Queen In Hyun’s ManNineW – Two Worlds) and PD of highly praised thriller Forest Of Secrets. It’s a great production team and another reason to look forward to this show, aside from its leading man. I dropped Hyun Bin’s last show Hyde, Jekyll, Me as I was finding it as interesting as watching paint dry and was hoping for him to do another great drama to enjoy his charismatic acting.

Memories Of The Alhambra is about a CEO of a firm who visits the Alhambra Palace in Spain and meets a former guitarist, the heroine, and the two of them get entwined in a strange situation. I’m glad that we don’t have full knowledge of what that weird turn of events is, as that helps in keeping us curious till the drama’s premiere.

Park Shin Hye is considering to play the female lead, which would be great! She has not done any drama since 2016’s hit Doctors (except for some cameo roles in Temperature Of Love and Gogh, The Starry Night). There is a funny and interesting bit about her casting here. She was previously considering a drama called Fox Bride Star (and it is now called People of Incheon Airport with a new plot) which was also a project that courted Hyun Bin. That did not happen and now again both may become a pair for Memories Of The Alhambra. Drama gods surely want them acting together!

Memories Of The Alhambra plans to premiere in the second half of this year. Can’t wait!
