The Banker is the new drama on MBC which tells the story of a bank auditor who was initially a bank branch manager but later promoted to an auditor post and transferred to the main branch. There he tries to fight corruption and bring justice. I think this one line synopsis does not explain a lot about the plot, and we will have to watch the actual show to understand the vibe and characters and story. The Banker is based on a Japanese manga series Kansayaku Nozaki Shuhei which was published from 1998 to 2002.
Kim Sang Joong (City Hunter) headlines in the main role and he is joined by Chae Si Ra (Five Fingers), Yoo Dong Geun (What Happens to My Family?) and Kim Tae Woo (Romance Is A Bonus Book) in the lead roles. It already premiered yesterday in the slot of Wednesdays and Thursdays and coincidentally both Kim Sang Joong and Chae Si Ra starred together in another MBC drama of same slot back in 1997 (22 years! Time flies!) called Illusionist.
The Banker is helmed by the PD of My Daughter, Geum Sa-Wol and All Kinds of Daughters-in-Law.
