I adore Park Min Young — she is so effortlessly charming in her acting, especially in romantic comedies (Her Private Life, What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim). Some can argue that she has done a lot of those but I think she brings a different side to each of her characters even if all those dramas are light hearted romances. She has confirmed to star in new JTBC show Cruel Story of Office Romance. The other title is quite a mouthful — Meteorological Administration People: Office Romance Cruelty.

Song Kang has signed on as the male lead. The actor is doing dramas left, right, and center — he did Sweet Home last year and 2021 brought Love Alarm Season 2, Navillera and just premiered Nevertheless,. Wow.

Cruel Story of Office Romance has its plot written in its name. It’s a workplace romance set in Korea Meteorological Administration. Park Min Young stars as a cold and efficient employee. For a change, I’m happy that we have a female lead with these personality traits. Song Kang plays another employee who is free spirited, clumsy and a bit eccentric who cares only about weather. I think their dynamics is going to be cute! Supporting cast includes Yoon Park (Search, The Package) — I find him really cute — as a well spoken employee and Yura (Kpop group Girl’s Day, Radio Romance) as a daily weather reporter.

Cruel Story of Office Romance doesn’t sound groundbreaking in terms of plot but with a cute cast and proper execution, this can be a fun ride. And I love office romance as a genre, so yes, I’m excited for this one! The drama will air sometime next year in the first half.
