I didn’t see this pairing coming but looks quite interesting. Song Hye Kyo is already doing an upcoming drama titled The Glory written by Kim Eun Sook and she is starring in another new drama called Now, We Are Breaking Up. It’s a romance drama with Jang Ki Yong in the lead role opposite her.

We don’t know much about the plot, mostly about characters. Song Hye Kyo stars as the manager of a design team of a fashion company. She is an intelligent and cold person. Jang Ki Yong plays a popular freelance fashion photographer with good looks and intellect. Choi Hee Seo, who played Seo Dong Jae’s wife in Stranger 2, plays the director of the design team as well as Song Hye Kyo’s high school classmate and Kim Joo Heon, who has been starring in a lot of dramas recently like It’s Okay To Not Be Okay, Start-Up, rounds out the cast as an efficient CEO of a PR company. Looks like the typical workplace romance but totally my cup of tea.

Song Hye Kyo last appeared in Encounter in 2018 and Jang Ki Yong recently wrapped My Roommate Is A Gumiho which has received lots of love from the viewers. Now, We Are Breaking Up is penned by the writer of Misty — this one seems to have a very different tone from that mystery thriller. The drama is slated for a premiere in second half of 2021.
