I’m bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for upcoming KBS rom-com The Law Cafe for multiple reasons! First, I absolutely love the main leads — Lee Seung Gi and Lee Se Young. Secondly, a friends-to-lovers premise! It has Kim Seul Gi, (Oh My Ghost) who is always terrific in any project she is in. Plus, a modern rom-com is always my cup of tea. The show has another name as Love According To The Law.

Based on a webtoon that was published in 2020, The Love Cafe stars Lee Seung Gi as a former prosecutor who is presently operating as a building owner. He is friends with Lee Se Young’s character since high school. She is an eccentric lawyer who quits her job and starts giving legal advice while running a cafe in his building. Kim Seul Gi plays an outspoken police officer who is friends with both the leads. Oh Dong Min (Doctor Prisoner) plays her husband who works as a restaurant chef.

We’ll be seeing Lee Seung Gi in a romance after a long time as his last two projects (Vagabond and Mouse) weren’t romance focused. Lee Se Young last appeared in historical romance The Red Sleeve. The two actors are actually reuniting as they both starred in Hong Sisters fantasy drama A Korean Odyssey (aka Hwayugi) in 2018.

The Love Cafe is set to premiere on September 5 in the slot of Monday-Tuesday. Interestingly, it follows another coffee related drama Cafe Minamdang.
