With Korean dramas being globally popular now more than ever, Disney+ is creating lots of content in the category. Legal drama May It Please The Court is one of its new offerings. It is premiering tomorrow and it is about two lawyers with opposite personalities that work together on a case. Not particularly new setting, but the leads definitely make it something I want to watch.
Jung Ryeo Won stars as an ace lawyer who has a cold personality and her goal is to win a case at any cost. She was about to become a partner in a firm but due to certain circumstances, her license is about to get suspended for a year and so she starts working as a public defender. She shares her office with another public defender, played by Lee Kyu Hyung, who was a top student but chose to work as a public defender, rejecting all other offers. He has a warm and oddball personality.
It’s interesting to note that this is Jung Ryeo Won’s third legal drama, Witch’s Court and Diary Of A Prosecutor being the other two. I absolutely loved her in The King Of Dramas. Lee Kyu Hyung has won hearts with his amazing performance in dramas like Stranger (Forest Of Secrets) and Hi Bye Mama!.
May It Please The Court will have a total of 12 episodes and it will air on Wednesdays. It is based on a 2019 novel.
