Korean dramas about behind the scenes shenanigans can be a hit or a miss. Some shows that based their plot on it are The World That They Live In (2008), Entourage (2016), King Of Dramas (2012) and The Producers (2015). The latest tvN drama Behind Every Star is also based on the entertainment industry and is a remake of French TV show Dix pour cent or Call My Agent! (2015 – Present). It is about the lives and relationships and struggles of actors and their managers.

Behind Every Star centers around an entertainment management company called Method Entertainment. Lee Seo Jin (Times) plays the general director — who is perfect in his work. Kwak Sun Young (who played cute Lee Ik Soon in Hospital Playlist) stars as a manager with 14 years of experience who started her career as a field manager. Then there is Seo Hyun Woo (Adamas, My Mister) who plays a pure hearted team leader. Joo Hyun Young (Extraordinary Attorney Woo) plays a rookie manager who always admired this industry and despite making mistakes, she grows as a professional manager.

The show will have lots of cameos — Oh Na Ra, Park Ho Sa, Kim So Hyun, Daniel Henney, Kim Soo Ro — to name a few. I think the premise sounds fun and I’m looking forward to it. The drama premieres tomorrow on tvN and Netflix in the slot of Mondays and Tuesdays. It will have a total of 12 episodes.
