Two Women is an interesting title for Kim Go Eun‘s (Goblin) upcoming drama — because automatically my mind went to Little Women, which contains “women” and it was also headlined by two female actors. Anyway, Two Women sounds very different from that mystery thriller. It is about the friendship between two women, played by Kim Go Eun and Park Ji Hyun.
Kim Go Eun plays a drama scriptwriter who comes from a simple background. Park Ji Hyun, who was so impressive in Reborn Rich, plays a successful film director who is from a wealthy family. They met during elementary school days and the drama will depict their relationship over the years, in their 20s and 30s and presently both are 42 years old. They reunited and separated at different courses of their lives — the dynamics changing from rivalry to friendship with time. The story starts at present when the film director character is diagnosed with cancer and she asks her friend for her companionship. The series shows them reflecting back on their past and relationship through the years.
Two Women also stars Kim Gun Woo (The Glory) as Kim Go Eun’s boyfriend and both friends’ college senior.
The drama appears to contain a heartwarming story about friendship. It is penned by the writer of Hundred Million Stars From the Sky (2018) — I cried so much after watching that drama (but such an amazing show) and My Sweet Seoul (2008). It held its script reading recently and the premiere date hasn’t been announced yet.
