I’m looking forward to upcoming SBS drama Flex X Cop — I like the cast, I love action-comedies and this one uses the fun trope of serious/immature detective duo. Ahn Bo Hyun and Park Ji Hyun are reuniting here after Yumi’s Cells (2021). Both the actors started their careers with supporting roles (Ahn Bo Hyun in Her Private Life, Itaewon Class, Descendants Of The Sun, etc.; Park Ji Hyun in Do You Like Brahms?, Reborn Rich, etc.) and it’s so good to see them now as main leads in their projects.

Flex X Cop stars Ahn Bo Hyun as an immature heir who somehow ends up working as a detective. He uses his wealth, connections and intelligence to catch the criminals. He joins the police force in the violent crimes team, which is led by a workaholic veteran detective, played by Park Ji Hyun. She is also the first female leader in the unit. Naturally, she doesn’t like the idea of working with someone like the male lead. They start as bickering partners but eventually warm up to each other.

The drama also stars Kwak Si Yang (Alice) as Ahn Bo Hyun’s older brother, Kang Sang Joon (Marry My Husband) as female lead’s friend and team member, Kim Shin Bi (Revenant) as team’s youngest member, Jang Hyun Sung (Under The Queen’s Umbrella) as male lead’s father and chairman of Hansu Group and Jung Ga Hee (The Glory) as pathologist from the National Forensic Service.

Flex X Cop is written by the screenwriter of shows like My Name (2022) and Hero (2012), and movies like The Huntresses (2014). It premieres tomorrow in the slot of Fridays and Saturdays.
