A procedural kdrama is not my most favorite category but I do watch them at times and even enjoy such series sometimes. The Auditors belongs to such bracket. It delves into the world of corporate auditing. It is led by a strong cast and is a fun, fast-paced entertainer.
ABOUT
The storyline follows a team of auditors as they uncover corruption and malpractice within a powerful conglomerate.
REVIEW
The Auditors moves at a brisk pace and has a crisp length of only 12 episodes. It keeps its cases interesting, with each one dealing with a unique type of auditing case. It’s exciting to see the auditing team trying to get to the bottom of the cases. But the way the auditing team investigates is more in a dramatic manner rather than any realistic auditing. The team members sometimes feel like cops, the way their investigations involve action and drama. This makes certain scenes unintentionally funny as well. There are engaging plot twists in different cases in the show’s episodic format.

It’s exciting to see how the new leader Sin Cha Il (Shin Ha Kyun) who is righteous, hard working and sincere — gradually inspires the whole auditing team to grow from a relaxed, indifferent and lazy team to the one which is determined, genuine and efficient.
My favorite thing about this drama is the dynamics between new team leader Sin Cha Il and vice president of the company, Hwang Dae Woong (Jin Goo). It’s also fun to see the partnership of pragmatic and serious Cha Il and his team member Goo Han Su (Lee Jung Ha) who is emotional and full of warmth. The drama is also filled with few surprises as the plot moves along. The drama is occasionally punctuated with humor.

The cast of the drama delivers solid performances across the board. The Auditors finds a terrific lead in Shin Ha Kyun, who balances the seriousness of his character with moments of vulnerability. Lee Jung Ha is impressive as Goo Han Su but I feel like sometimes the character acts way too trusting for someone who is supposed to be an auditor. Jin Goo delivers a winsome performance and has a really interesting character in the drama. There are multiple cameos in the drama for its various cases — it adds to the enjoyment factor.

IN A NUTSHELL
Led by a solid cast, The Auditors is a fast-paced episodic show that offers a mix of entertainment and thrills.
MY RATING: 8 out of 10
