Believe it or not, February is here! The month brings relatively smaller number of Korean drama premieres but I’m looking forward to some of them for sure. Read on for the details:

Honour

Premiere Date: February 2

Network: ENA

Stars: Lee Na Young (Romance Is A Bonus Book), Jung Eun Chae (Pachinko), Lee Chung Ah (Hide), Yeon Woo Jin (A Virtuous Business)

Slot: Monday & Tuesday

Number Of Episodes: 12

Genre: Law, Thriller, Mystery, Crime

Synopsis: It centers on three female lawyers who have been friends for 20 years and work together at a law firm specializing in the defense of female crime victims. A secret from their past comes to light in the present, and the drama follows how they confront it head-on.

Thoughts: I like the premise of three lawyers who are friends and working on a case. The main cast is alluring and I think this could be a gripping, intense story.

Bloody Flower

Premiere Date: February 4

Network: Disney+

Stars: Ryeoun (Twinkling Watermelon), Sung Dong Il (Typhoon Family), Geum Sae Rok (The Interest Of Love)

Slot: Wednesday

Number Of Episodes: 8

Genre: Thriller, Mystery, Crime

Synopsis: It is about a serial killer who has genius medical skills and can cure any incurable disease, a lawyer who wants to protect him in order to save his sick daughter and a prosecutor who must prove her worth through a death penalty case.

Thoughts: The first thing that came to mind on reading its synopsis was that the genre should also be fantasy?! Anyway, Disney+ dramas have not really impressed me much. Hopefully, this one would be good.

The Art Of Sarah

Premiere Date: February 13

Network: Netflix

Stars: Shin Hye Sun (Dear Hyeri), Lee Joon Hyuk (Love Scout), Kim Jae Won (The Tale Of Lady Ok)

Slot: All episodes released together.

Number Of Episodes: 8

Genre: Thriller, Mystery, Crime

Synopsis: The story revolves around a woman who was living a carefully crafted false identity, and a detective who probes the truth behind her suspicious murder.

Thoughts: I’m so excited for this one! The premise sounds intriguing and it marks the reunion of Shin Hye Sun and Lee Joon Hyuk after their highly acclaimed thriller Stranger aka Forest Of Secrets which aired in 2017. I also like both the actors a lot!

In Your Radiant Season

Premiere Date: February 20

Network: MBC

Stars: Chae Jong Hyup (Serendipity’s Embrace), Lee Sung Kyung (The Nice Guy)

Slot: Friday & Saturday

Number Of Episodes: 12

Genre: Romance, Drama

Synopsis: A love story between a man who is bright and cheerful, and a woman who is withdrawn into a cold, guarded life.

Thoughts: This is second Korean drama this year that is about romance between a cold heroine and a warm hearted hero. Is this the trend for romcoms this year? But I’m interested in this one despite the overused trope — it is written by the writer of lovely shows like Still 17 and High School King Of Savvy, and it stars the leads who I adore.

Our Universe

Premiere Date: February 4

Network: tvN

Stars: Bae In Hyuk (The Story Of Park’s Marriage Contract), Roh Jung Ui (The Witch), Park Seo Ham (Dating Class)

Slot: Wednesday & Thursday

Number Of Episodes: 12

Genre: Comedy, Romance

Synopsis: After a tragic accident leaves them co-guardians of their nephew, two adults who clash at first are forced to live together—only to discover love along the way.

Thoughts: This trope has been seen in movies like Life As We Know It (2010), It Started In Naples (1960) and in books too. I do think it has potential — I enjoyed Life As We Know It — to be cute and romantic.

The Practical Guide To Love

Premiere Date: February 28

Network: JTBC

Stars: Han Ji Min (Heavenly Ever After), Park Sung Hoon (Squid Game Season 3), Lee Ki Taek (My Happy Ending)

Slot: Saturday & Sunday

Number Of Episodes: 12

Genre: Comedy, Romance

Synopsis: A woman pursues romance through blind dates, only to be drawn to two very different men, forcing her to confront what love truly means to her.

Thoughts: I suddenly felt like this show is 2026’s Dalja’s Spring, what with the heroine being confused between two guys who are very different from each other. But that gem of a show had her meeting them by chance and here she meets the guys through blind dates. I’m low key interested in this show.

Love Phobia

Premiere Date: February 2

Network: Netflix

Stars: Kim Hyun Jin (Nice To Not Meet You), Yeon Woo (The Tale Of Lady Ok), Cho Yoon Seo (Welcome To Samdal-ri), Choi Byung Chan (Business Proposal)

Slot: Thursday & Friday

Number Of Episodes: 12

Genre: Comedy, Romance

Synopsis: A love story between a romance novelist who is deeply in tune with his emotions, and an emotionally detached CEO of the AI-powered dating app.

Thoughts: Wait….another opposites attract, cold heroine-warm hero premise???!!! I might watch this if I hear good things about it.
