Korean movie The Journey To Gyeongju is releasing this August and it is bringing together an impressive ensemble cast led by Lee Jung Eun (Parasite), Gong Hyo Jin (When The Camellia Blooms), Park So Dam (Record Of Youth), and Lee Yeon (Perfect Crown).

The movie is a black comedy as well as a thriller. It is about a woman and her three daughters who embark on a road trip to take revenge on the man responsible for the death of her youngest daughter. They have waited eight years for this and the culprit is getting released from the prison now.

The film is reuniting Lee Jung Eun and Park So Dam as they worked together in globally acclaimed and the Academy Award winner film Parasite (2019). I like this powerhouse cast a lot and I love that all main characters are females.

As the women travel during this road trip, the movie will display layers of love, loss and retribution. The story would be a combination of humor and emotional intensity.

The Journey To Gyeongju is releasing on August 26 and it’s directed by Kim Mi Zo. The movie has received international buzz — it will be showcased in Hawaiʻi International Film Festival and has already received Audience Award at the Florence Korea Film Fest.
