I laughed out loud after reading the winners of 2013 MBC Drama Awards. Not that I expect anything substantial coming out of these channel award events as with past experiences, I have understood that they are all about popularity and ratings. But still, even when I kept that in mind, some of the winners left me flabbergasted and some of the actors or dramas that were left out made me realise how meaningless these awards can be. Yeah, these people still managed to surprise us even when we were ready for them!
Anyway, congratulations to all the winners, deserving or not!!

These award shows are always hilarious with who they give awards to. What I don’t get is how they can give awards to shows that are currently airing? Like, Golden Rainbow has only been on for 8 weeks. Wait til it’s over before awarding people for it.
Also, Kim So Hyun looks so pretty. I love that dress. I want that dress.

So many categories….so many disappointments. So many shocks!! 😀
How did Hundred Years of Inheritance won drama of year award, I don’t know. Granted, MBC lucked out some hit dramas this year, but surely someone else deserves drama of year…? Oh well, it’s not like these award shows are meant to be taken seriously either.
I heard many people were upset that Two Weeks didn’t win. I feel really bad for Lee Jun Ki because the drama was really good, and certainly underrated. But it aired the same time as Master’s Sun. 😥
Maybe he should stick to films for a little while?
It’s obvious that Empress Ki is the highlight of the award show, but the show hasn’t even aired half of its episodes yet. I guess MBC didn’t know who else to award, so might as well include the show because it’s doing really well with the ratings…
Drama of the year was surely a shock!! They could have given it to any show other than HYI…..LOL 😀
Two Weeks didn’t get even a single award…..and it was the best MBC drama in my opinion this year….these awards can never be taken seriously at all. Period. And I think the popularity is not affected by these as well…so doesn’t matter if anyone gets or not….the only good thing is to see our stars all dolled up 😉
And sometimes our favorite shows and stars get awarded….so it feels good….but yeah…nothing substantial here….
Actually MBC had a bad luck this year as most of its dramas failed, rating or quality wise….so the only one which is popular right now is Empress Ki and hence so many awards.
The award show should be renamed to “MBC Drama Awards That Brought Us The Most Viewers Which = $$$”
But don’t even get me started on the SBS drama awards either.
I guess in the end it’s really us, the audience, that have a better (and hopefully unbiased as well!) judgement over which drama is “good” quality-wise. We can’t trust these award shows that is just for show.
Yep, Empress Ki is really popular and I myself, find it an enjoyable watch. No wonder MBC felt compelled to award the stars as “thanks” for the $$$.
LOL….in a way, some credit does go to actors and shows which bring high ratings because it is certainly not an easy task….so not much of a complaint but sometimes, some winners really make me shocked!
Yes….award or not….if a drama is good, viewers know it…as does the stars 🙂

Last year, MBC completely ignored Ha Ji Won and LSG in The king 2 hearts. MBC made a revenge by giving 3 awards to ha ji won and 2 awards to LSG. What a nice revenge. LOL. Eventhough I want them to be awarded for their role in TK2H.
