Gong Hyo Jin is back! She has confirmed to star in upcoming drama It’s Okay, It’s Love along with Jo In Sung as her hero. The drama is penned by acclaimed writer Noh Hee Kyung who is working again with both the actors: she wrote That Winter, The Wind Blows that starred the latter while Gong Hyo Jin acted in her 2001 written drama Splendid Days. Well, I would have been all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed by this news, and the only thing that’s preventing me for going cent percent in that state is the genre—I’m not exactly sure but judging from the scriptwriter’s previous shows, it’s possibly a melodrama. Anyway, It’s Okay, It’s Love is a romantic medical drama about the life and love of modern people with psychiatric field playing a major role. Jo In Sung plays a mystery writer as well as a radio jockey who is suffering from obsessive-compulsive neurosis. Gong Hyo Jin stars as a first year fellow in the psychiatric department at a university hospital. She took this field as she could avoid late night work shifts and surgeries. Her life changes after she meets the hero. I think the two would make a great pair as both are brilliant actors, although I do think their acting style is very different, with her being very natural and low-key, while him being quite energetic.
The supporting cast includes Sung Dong Il who is steering away from his usual roles this time as he plays Gong Hyo Jin’s senior and her first love! Lee Kwang Soo (Nice Guy) will be playing a man who has Tourette syndrome while Kpop group EXO‘s D.O. takes on the role of a high school student who aspires to become a best-selling writer, who is understandably a fan of Jo In Sung’s writer character.
I’m just glad that we are not having any off-putting melo-elements in the plot. It’s Okay, It’s Love is another inclusion in the highly successful Wednesday-Thursday SBS slot as it follows You’re All Surrounded which starts after Three Days wraps up. That puts its premiere sometime in July. I don’t know about how the drama will turn out but it is always a pleasure to watch Gong Hyo Jin who simply sweetens the whole experience!
Cool! I love her!
Me too ♥
Nice pairing. Jo In Sung was so handsome in That Winter The Wind Blows.
Aw..I haven’t seen TWTWB but I did see him in his film ‘Classic’ and he was good in it!
A good actor. I did not like TWTWB that much. Great acting all around but not a fan of the story.
The story was the main reason I didn’t watch it….but I like all the actors in it: Jo In Sung..Song Hye Kyo..Kim Bum and Jung Eun Ji 🙂
It felt weird a guy pretending to be the brother of a blind woman and falling in love when they are suppose to be “siblings”. 😔
I know! This was the issue I had with the story line and I completely ignored the drama…lol 😀
Reblogged this on kdramaostersheet.
Ohh I’m definitely watching it. I thnink the story sounds so interesting and besides it’s Gong Hyo Jin.. I love her.. 🙂
Yes….she is the main reason for my tuning into the drama as well! And the story is not bad either 😉
The actor pairing is really intriguing. I’m a bit worried about the writer. She burned me with TWTB’s ending — but at the same time, I could see her potential. So all in all… I’m conflicted! 😀
I didn’t watch TWTWB but I read about the ending…yes, that is a worrying factor but I’ll give this a try just for the actors 🙂
okay i am definitely in for this in for this drama…something new for pairing….Jo In Sung and Gong Hyo Jin i love them both…and what more exciting is the giraffe Lee Kwang Soo is in and of course another one from k-pop arena!…D.O of EXO!…i love this group and i adore the excellent rapping skills of D.O though i just don’t know if he can act?…from what i’ve read D.O’s character will give a big impact on the story-line so let’s see…
Yes…a fresh pairing indeed 🙂
Lee Kwang Soo can be really funny….but as you know, I’m so much ignorant about Kpop….and I think EXO is the current hot favorite…right evez 😉
lee kwang soo I love him!!! ive been wanting to see him play a more serious role…hopefully this is good
I have seen him in only Nice Guy….and in some Running Man scenes….
It would be interesting to see him in a serious role…that’s true 🙂
yeah he cracks me up in running man but I haven’t seen nice guy yet…it just doesn’t seem to pique my interest
Hmm…you are not losing much by not watching Nice Guy…it was entertaining but not so great….
