It’s true that dramaland is flooded with love sweet love right now with most of the offerings of rom-coms being awesome. But hey, who’s complaining when you get rainbows and unicorns in abundance! Another romantic comedy coming up next month is for tvN and is titled My Secret Hotel. To show’s credit, it is making things a bit fresh by adding murder mystery in the mix, so basically serving us with a cocktail of romance, humour and mystery and thrills. The leading cast includes two actors that I really like — Jin Yi Han and Yoo In Na. I enjoyed You From Another Star immensely but found Yoo In Na wasted in a colorless role of the second female lead. And it makes me very happy that now she is again headlining a drama after giving an endearing performance in her first main lead role in 2012’s Queen In Hyun’s Man. Jin Yi Han is doing back to back shows with Empress Ki and A New Leaf being his last two projects and it’s also great to see him as main lead here.
My Secret Hotel is about a grand hotel where Yoo In Na works as wedding planning manager. She meets her ex-husband, played by Jin Yi Han, while planning his second wedding. Oops. This divorced couple has complications arising on their reunion but things get worse when a murder takes place in the hotel. Nam Goong Min (I Need Romance 3) plays hotel’s director while Lee Young Eun (Full House) stars as public relations manager. I think the premise is intriguing enough with taking two common trends of this year — exes-reunions (Emergency Couple, Discovery Of Romance) and thrillers (3 Days, Gap Dong, God’s Gift – 14 Days). I’m getting best of both worlds as rom-coms are like cream to my coffee and well, I’m a fan of murder-mysteries.
My Secret Hotel will start airing from 18 August on Mondays and Tuesdays, taking over the slot from current hit High School King Of Savvy, which recently announced a two episode extension. I’m adding this to my watch list.
So~ “Tal Tal” is the male lead not the second one? looking forward to this ^ ^
I’m not too sure if he is the only main lead but the synopsis does sound like it..and not screaming “second lead” description 😉
