Remember what I said about not being a sageuk lover? Well, now I will be watching not one but two sageuks for coming months as after getting totally entertained by last week’s premiered drama Moonlight Drawn By Clouds, I’m looking forward to this week’s premiere show — Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart: Goryeo. The latter is surely a star-studded drama as we have lots and lots of actors performing the K-version of a popular Chinese novel and drama. And that is probably the main reason I’m excited about the show. It is basically a romance story with some garnishing of fantasy elements.
IU plays (she is going by her real name Lee Ji Eun for the show) a modern-day woman who travels back in time to the Goryeo era and there she will meet different princes — Lee Jun Ki, Kang Ha Neul, Hong Jong Hyun, Ji Soo, Nam Joo Hyuk, Baekhyun. Wow. So many pretty faces! Then there is female cast consisting of Seohyun, Kang Hanna and Jin Ki Joo, with a strong supporting cast of Kim Sung Kyun, Sung Dong Il and many more.
Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart: Goryeo (That’s a very, very long moniker for a frequent use, so I’ll simply go for Scarlet Heart) is directed by the PD of It’s Okay, It’s Love and That Winter, the Wind Blows while adapted by the writer of Cinderella Man and Save The Last Dance For Me. It’s a fully pre-produced show and has been promoting left, right and center from a many weeks. Finally, it is hitting the airwaves tomorrow, following Doctors on SBS.
What can I say about the posters — everyone is looking pretty!!!
The posters are gorgeous, that’s for sure, but I hope the drama won’t go the way of another one with gorgeous posters and LJK as the lead… That one was such a disappointment.
The start of Moonlight was cute and fun. I’m just wondering how long it will last before we get wall to wall angst and too much palace politics.
Yeah, I’m a total party pooper. XD
Hahahah….I’m enjoying the cute and SKKS kind of vibe for now. I hope the politics is kept to the minimum!
I didn’t see or dropped previous LJK sageuks…really want this one to be good…but hopes are not very high.
I honestly don’t know who’d say no to a drama starring both IU AND Lee Jun Ki. Although I’m not the biggest fan of historical dramas, I’d be a shame not to check this one out. Story looks pretty interesting too so thanks for bringing it to my attention. I’m digging your blog by the way. How’d you feel about sharing your work on Moviepilot/Creators? I’d love to expand on that so feel free to send me an e-mail. My contact details are on my blog. Hope to hear from you.
Lee Jun Ki, IU and Kang Ha Neul too…plus Ji Soo! So yeah, the cast is enough to give this one a try 🙂
I’m glad you liked the blog…thanks!
Right now I’m a bit busy to give full attention to writing…but I will definitely get in touch once I get some free time 🙂
