Drinking Solo, Ha Suk Jin, Kdrama, Korean drama, Park Ha Sun, tvN
I love Park Ha Sun! And I was really excited to know that she is returning to dramaland after a small break — she did a lot of shows back to back with Ad Genius Lee Tae Baek, Two Weeks, Temptation, Three Days — but then there was a gap and now she is coming back with Drinking Solo. It’s a tvN show in the same vein as Let’s Eat — it’s directed by the PD of Let’s Eat 2 and is a spinoff of that franchise. My only problem is that drinking scenes or drunk characters are my pet peeve, they just bore me a lot and irritate me, so I cannot be as excited about this show. Anyhow, the premise sounds slice-of-life and it’s tvN, so I have positive feeling about this one.
Drinking Solo centers around a district where there are private institutions that provide tuition or coaching for preparing for civil service examinations. I think this backdrop is pretty fresh. So our characters include teachers, staff and students. Ha Suk Jin (D Day) plays a star lecturer, Park Ha Sun takes up the role of a rookie lecturer, Hwang Woo Seul Hye (Glorious Day) plays a hot and popular instructor, Gong Myung (Entertainer) and Key (of Kpop group SHINee) star as students. Basically the show is about how these people bond through their love for drinking.
Drinking Solo arrives tomorrow as the new Monday-Tuesday drama for tvN as it follows fantasy rom-com Bring It On Ghost.
