I’m grinning like a Cheshire cat right now after reading the casting news of upcoming tvN drama This Life Is Our First. Jung So Min was heart and soul of Playful Kiss (2010) and it always made me sad that she was so underrated after leading that drama in the following years. It was great that she got huge success with currently airing weekend drama Father Is Strange and now she has been cast opposite Lee Min Ki in This Life Is Our First! The latter will be returning to small screen after almost 10 years (he did do a guest appearance in Shut Up Flower Boy Band in 2012). I thought he would take the Won Bin, Kang Dong Won route of doing solely films, so it definitely was a pleasant surprise as I found him cute in Dalja’s Spring.
This Life Is Our First will portray the struggles, dreams, relationships of the youth. Lee Min Ki will play a guy who has sworn bachelorhood. He ends up living with Jung So Min’s character who is in need of a house. They reach this arrangement due to practical and financial reasons. Wow. Cohabitation hijinks! I can’t wait to see this pair starting as uninterested housemates and then falling in love!
The behind the scenes team for This Life Is Our First looks pretty solid — the PD has directed long running Rude Miss Young Ae, Let’s Eat franchise and Bring It On, Ghost. The writer scripted Flower Boy Ramyun Shop and Hogu’s Love, which were quirky and warm with that special tvN touch which makes them so likeable. The new drama will follow yet-to-premiere journalist drama Argon and that puts its premiere some time in October.
Very much looking forward to this drama! The cast, writer, and production team are all fantastic 🙂
I’m a bit skeptical with this pairing but I’m all about “prove me wrong” 😉. I love Jung So Min since Playful Kiss and I am loving her character in Father is Strange. I really am excited for her upcoming work with Min Ki.
Why skeptical?? I love her and as for LMK, I have fond memories from Dalja’s Spring. So I’m hoping they would make a good pair!
I’m just skeptical- I can’t picture them together.
