The next webdrama to release in the series of webdramas JTBC has planned in order to encourage new talents and concepts, is time travelling Somehow 18. The show stars Kpop group SHINee‘s Minho in the lead role where he plays an orthopedic surgeon. He was bullied during his high school days and also he was in love with Lee Yoo Bi‘s character. Tragically, she died. Now somehow the hero gets a chance to travel back to the period when he was 18 and this time he is determined to save his first love. The plot does not sound new to me as it reminds of Operation Proposal, and recent Manhole. But the tragedy involved does give it a grim touch rather than the happy and cute vibe the other brethren give. Minho was last seen in sageuk Hwarang which I didn’t watch but I did find him adorable in few episodes of Because It’s The First Time that I saw. Lee Yoo Bi will appear on screen after a considerable gap as her last leading role was in 2015’s Scholar Who Walks The Night opposite Lee Jun Ki. Though she guest starred in Uncontrollably Fond.

Somehow 18 is written by new writer Yoo Soo Ji and is directed by the PD of Wild Chives and Soy Bean Soup: 12 Years Reunion. It will air on Naver TV Cast as well as JTBC from 28 August with total of 10 episodes of length of 15 minutes each.
