This is definitely a surprising news! Lee Na Young, who has stayed away from small screen since 2010’s Fugitive Plan B, is making a drama comeback after 9 years. She has confirmed tvN’s romantic comedy Romance Is A Supplement which will star Lee Jong Suk opposite her. The actor remained more or less out of limelight after 2012’s movie Howling; only playing a minor role in Japanese film SPEC: Close in 2013. She also appeared in 2015 short film Woman, Man. 2018 will see her return to acting with movie Beautiful Days which is releasing in November. She got married to actor Won Bin in 2015. I really liked her in movie Please Teach Me English that costarred Jang Hyuk and found her okay in drama Fugitive Plan B that I enjoyed immensely.

Romance Is A Supplement is set in the publishing world. Lee Jong Suk, last seen in While You Were Sleeping, plays an accomplished writer and editor-in-chief of a publishing company. Lee Na Young plays a formerly successful copywriter who is somehow unemployed presently and is in desperate need of job. Turns out, she is overqualified for the jobs she is applying to and thus decides to lie about her experience and education, finally securing a job at Lee Jong Suk’s company. The story sounds funny and chirpy and I’m looking forward to see this pairing, considering it is totally something I never imagined. I’m also excited to see Lee Na Young in a comedy and also happy that this will be Lee Jong Suk’s first full-fledged rom-com as his earlier dramas were all a mix of romance and other elements like fantasy, legal, melodrama and thrills.

Romance Is A Supplement will air in the first half of 2019. The PD has directed dramas like Life On Mars, Criminal Minds, Heartless City and the writer penned all three dramas of I Need Romance franchise, Discovery Of Love and Because It’s The First Time. So I’m expecting a similar modern, contemporary and stylish vibe here as well.
