Romance Is A Bonus Book premiered last week on tvN as the new weekend drama on the network following fantasy Memories Of The Alhambra. Like its predecessor, the show received good ratings for its premiere week. For me, there are many reasons for getting excited to watch it — Lee Na Young‘s comeback to dramaland after 9 long years, Lee Jong Suk‘s charm and last drama before military enlistment and the premise (and attached teaser which looks so warm and fun with a great ensemble). Plus, books, my forever love! Also, last but not least, the writer of modern, quirky romances Because It’s The First Time, I Need Romance franchise and Discovery Of Love and the PD of Heartless City and Life Of Mars.

Set in a publishing world, the drama stars Lee Na Young (Fugitive Plan B) as a copywriter of was highly successful in the past but currently she is desperate to find a job, and is overqualified for jobs she is applying to. Hence, she lies about being a high school drop out and thus secures a job in a publishing company where Lee Jong Suk’s (I Hear Your Voice) character is the editor-in-chief, who is also a star writer.

Jung Yoo Jin (really liked her in Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food and Thirty But Seventeen) plays a workaholic Content Development editor, Wi Ha Joon (he played Son Ye Jin‘s younger brother in Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food) plays a sweet freelance book designer, Kim Tae Woo (God’s Gift – 14 Days, The Good Wife) plays the eccentric CEO of the publishing company and Kim Yoo Mi (Heartless City) plays the cold director of the firm.

I cannot wait to start Romance Is A Bonus Book. It definitely looks funny, cute, feel-good with a lovely cast and characters.
