Mythical creatures have been the center of many books, films and TV shows and Korean dramas are no exception. One of the most popular ones in dramaland is Gumiho, or a Nine-Tailed Fox. There have been multiple stories woven around it, a few dramas being My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho (2010), Nine-Tailed Fox (2004), Gu Family Book (2013) and Gumiho: Tale of the Fox’s Child (2010).

tvN is bringing back Gumiho with its new fantasy drama Tale of Gumiho (also, Tale of The Nine-Tailed Fox). The show has confirmed Lee Dong Wook and Jo Bo Ah as its leads. He did 2 dramas this year — romcom Touch Your Heart and thriller Strangers From Hell, while she was seen in My Strange Hero early this year.

Lee Dong Wook plays the gumiho here, who once lived as a Mountain God and in the present times, he works as an official between the human world and the fantasy world. He has high . intelligence and athletic abilities. Somehow this casting reminds me a lot about Goblin. Jo Bo Ah plays a gutsy and bold PD who is producing a program about discovering about urban legends. Well, that definitely sets up the path for the two to meet each other.

Tale Of Gumiho will be helmed by the PD of Midas and Heirs, and penned by the writer of Children Of A Lesser God. It is set to air in 2020 (obviously).
