The upcoming Channel A drama Touch looks like a bundle of fun and feel-goodness. The show is keeping makeup artists at its core with Joo Sang Wook playing an unemployed makeup artist and Kim Bo Ra playing a former idol trainee who never got a chance to debut in a group. They both come together with an aspiration to succeed in the field of makeup. She becomes his assistant. Since the drama is set in an entertainment industry, how can we not have top stars? Lee Tae Hwan (What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?) and Han Da Gam (Let Me Introduce Her) fill up these roles and Byun Jung Soo (Pasta, Last Scandal) rounds out the cast as a top makeup artist and rival to the hero. This looks like a nice, frolicsome underdog story and I’m looking forward to it.

Joo Sang Wook last appeared in melodrama Fates and Furies. Surprisingly I have seen his work in a very minimum degree as whichever dramas I picked up, I ended up dropping them (Birth of a Beauty, Cunning Single Lady). I have seen Kim Bo Ra in Her Private Life but she has been acting from many years as a child actress. She also starred in highly acclaimed SKY Castle. She and Joo Sang Wook both worked in melodrama Glamorous Temptation back in 2015 where she played the teenage counterpart to Cha Ye Ryun‘s character.

Touch is premiering on January 3 (Fridays and Saturdays), with the PD of Ugly Alert and Ms. Ma, Nemesis at the helm. I love the individual posters which show each character with respect to makeup. Bring on the colors!
