This is an interesting and unexpected pairing! Kang Ha Neul (Misaeng, When the Camellia Blooms) and Ha Ji Won (Secret Garden, Chocolate) are coming together in new KBS drama Curtain Call which is premiering this Monday. The premise and look reminds me of old school/ early 2000s dramas — which is actually refreshing in current era. I like both the actors a lot and count me in as an eager viewer for this show. The drama also stars Kwon Sang Woo (Mystery Queen) in an important role.

Curtain Call stars Ha Ji Won as an heiress who manages luxury hotel Nakwon which is owned by her grandmother, played by Go Doo Shim (Our Blues). Grandma is originally from North Korea and her last wish is to see her grandson who got separated from her long back. Kang Ha Neul stars as a theatre actor who is hired to act as her grandson. This plot has been done a lot of times in movies and TV shows, especially a few years back, but can be very entertaining. Kwon Sang Woo plays an heir to a family that owns a giant conglomerate. Ha Ji Won and him have previously starred together in 2004 movie Love, So Divine.

Sung Dong Il (Reply 1997) plays former manager and long term employee of the hotel and right-hand man to grandmother. Jung Ji So (Doom at Your Service) stars as an actress from Kang Ha Neul’s character’s theatre troupe who is in love with him.

Curtain Call is arriving on October 31 in the Monday-Tuesday slot. It is written by the writer of After The Show Ends. P.S. I LOVE Ha Ji Won’s look in the drama!
