The Midnight Romance In Hagwon or simply The Midnight Romance is a show I’m most excited about with a “simply can’t wait” feeling! There are so many reasons for it — Wi Ha Joon (Little Women) in a lead role and that too a romantic one. Jung Ryeo Won (King Of Dramas) as his costar; she is one of my favorite actresses. The mood of the show — old school romantic, soothing vibe. The promotional material — Wi Ha Joon looks swoony and Jung Ryeo Won looks gorgeous. Everything looks so good!

The Midnight Romance In Hagwon is set in the neighborhood called Daechi. It is known as the epicenter of private education in Korea. Jung Ryeo Won plays a private education academy instructor. She tirelessly helps a troublemaker student, played by Wi Ha Joon, in achieving admission to a prestigious university. He returns after 10 years to teach in the same academy after quitting his corporate job. She was his first love but in the present, both start to fall in love with each other.

The other costars include So Joo Yun (Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim 3) as a new instructor in the Korean Language Department and Shin Joo Hyup (Castaway Diva) as the hero’s best friend.

The drama is directed by acclaimed director Ahn Pan Suk and we can see his distinct style in the stills and trailers. His other shows include A Wife’s Credentials, Secret Love Affair and Something In The Rain to name a few. His shows are intimate, soft, contemplative and subtle.
