Technically it’s June already but I wanted to talk about my May watch time. Although I’m also watching Still Shining and The Art Of Sarah, I haven’t watched more since I last wrote about them. Read on to know about what I was watching last month:
My Royal Nemesis (2026)
Watched: 6 Episodes
I’m having so much fun watching new Korean drama My Royal Nemesis. It’s been a long time since I’ve enjoyed a K-drama this much without getting distracted. The lead characters are incredibly charming, and their chemistry is fantastic. I loved their witty banter and how they are slowly falling for each other. I’m intrigued by how the past will connect with the present. I just hope that the ending is a happy one for the leads β we have seen way too many fantasy dramas where the conclusion is unsatisfactory.
Off Campus (2026)
Completed
It is not a Kdrama but an American show I’m currently obsessed with. It is based on sports romance book series by Elle Kennedy. The show is so good β a perfect blend of romance, comedy, friendships, fun and emotional arcs. The soundtrack is incredible too and adds so much to the overall vibe. The main OTP Hannah and Garrett remind me of Kdrama ships. Their banter, lingering eye contacts, strangers-to-friends-to-lovers journey, swoony romantic moments made me so giddy. Loved them! The chemistry between Ella Bright and Belmont Cameli is amazing. The second lead love story is fun too. The show is thoughtful, handles difficult themes sensitively and is full of so many classic romantic movie references. I’m so excited for season 2!
I’ve been watching My Royal Nemesis as well. I do like the OTP but the chaebol shenanigans take way too much screen time and that part doesn’t interest me one iota. After ep 7 I put the drama on hold and decided to wait till it ends. Hopefully drama sticks the landing.
I’m on ep 8 and I agree that the show is not as gripping now. It feels slower in pace. Hopefully it gets better like before LOL.
I’m in a bit of a drama slump atm as nothing seems to grab me fully. If I put a drama on the side for a little while, chances are I never get back to it. What I have been watching is loads of donghuas, ha.
Haha same! These days if I keep something on hold, 95% chances are that I won’t pick up again π₯²
