I love these pictures of Ha Ji Won featured in the June issue of InStyle Korea magazine. Not only are they beautiful, but they are so different from her usual badass image she adorns for films and dramas, especially in recent years. Be it the stuntwoman in fantasy-romance-comedy drama Secret Garden (2011) or the soldier in The King 2 Hearts (2012) or the latest movie The Huntresses, where she plays one of the warriors of Joseon era a la Charlie’s Angels kind of role. I like her in such roles, but it is refreshing to see her in a more feminine and girlish persona in these spreads. Continue reading

Ha Ji Won is one of those Korean actresses that I have known about from my earliest days of getting introduced to Korean entertainment, as her romantic comedy movie 100 Days With Mr. Arrogant with Kim Jae Won came in my view when I started my extensive search for more and more K-movies after watching My Little Bride and I needed as much cuteness as I could get. The movie was cute for sure and that adjective also goes for Ha Ji Won. After my cognizance regarding dramaland increased, I came to know that she is one of the most popular and among the top stars of South Korea. Ha Ji Won is perfect in badass roles, and recently we are seeing her a lot in action roles (Secret Garden, The King 2 Hearts). The new addition to them is her latest action, adventure comedy film The Huntresses or Joseon Trio of Beauties as the literal title. The story sounds similar to Charlie’s Angels, just place them in the Joseon era. Well, the idea seems interesting and amusing.
